Coronavirus: Portugal puts an end to most restrictions

From October 1, there will be no limits on the number of people allowed to sit together in restaurants and cafes or to attend cultural events, weddings and baptisms.

Digital certificates and negative tests will no longer be mandatory in hotels and gyms, but will be required for air travel and maritime transport or to attend major cultural or sporting events, according to Costa.

Portugal announced today 885 new cases of Covid-19 and five deaths. The total number of infections now stands at 1,064,876 or about one in 10 Portuguese and that of the dead at 17,938.
