Coronavirus positive 49 flight passengers from India to Hong Kong

An alarm has been sounded in Hong Kong after 49 cases were detected coronavirus to flight passengers from New Delhi.

Hong Kong authorities on Monday banned flights from India, the Philippines and Pakistan.

The travelers had arrived in Hong Kong on April 4 with a flight of the Indian company Vistata, as broadcast by AMPE.

Hong Kong has had less than 50 cases of coronavirus per day since January, which makes the incident even more serious.

City officials decided yesterday to ban flights from India, Pakistan and the Philippines, three countries at high risk, for the next 14 days, following the first detection of a domestic case of a coronavirus strain.

THE India is currently facing the rapid spread of the pandemic, while yesterday, Monday, another record of new coronavirus cases was recorded. and a six-day lockdown was imposed on 20 million New Delhi residents.

The Vistara aircraft has a capacity of 188 passengers, but the Hong Kong authorities did not specify how many were on the flight.

All travelers arriving in Hong Kong remain in quarantine at a hotel for three weeks. During this quarantine, positive cases were identified among the passengers of the Vistara flight. To travel to Hong Kong, one must have a negative coronavirus test no later than 72 hours before departure.

The Hong Kong, one of the most densely populated cities in the world, has so far managed to reduce the coronavirus epidemic by taking very drastic measures, imposing strict quarantine and making the use of a mask mandatory for the entire population.

Among its nearly 7.5 million inhabitants, just over 11,070 cases and 209 deaths from covid-19 were recorded.

To date, almost 10% of residents have received a first dose of covid-19 vaccine.
