Coronavirus – Serbia: Outbreak of pandemic with increase in new cases – Positiveness rate at 30%

The epidemiological situation in Serbia where new cases are increasing daily coronavirus, with the country’s health system under increasing pressure.

According to the EIA, they were confirmed in the last 24 hours 7.664 new cases of Covid-19 with a positivity index of 30,2%. They died from complications of the disease caused by the Sars Cov-2 virus 57 people raising deaths on 9.214.

At the same time, they are being treated in coronavirus reference hospitals 6.679 patients of whom 274 are intubated.

The fullness in hospitals touches the 100%, according to the same source, while the situation is equally dramatic in health centres as in pediatric clinics.

According to official data for the month of September, the 95% of patients in need of hospitalization not were vaccinated.

Besides, the country’s vaccination program is estimated to have failed since only the 48% of the population has been vaccinated with both doses.

Epidemiologists are trying in vain to persuade the government to take meters and impose restrictions on the movement of unvaccinated citizens. All relevant suggestions of the health department of the Public Health Committee were not made accepted by the government for economic as well as political reasons, since the anti-vaccination movement is finding a response in society, it is added to the report of APE BPE.

The laxity with which the authorities deal with the outbreak of the pandemic is of great concern to experts who believe that the health system will collapse unless strict measures are taken immediately to stop the spread of the virus.
