Coronavirus – Sick leave: How it is paid by EFKA

Clarifications on the method of payment of employees who suffer from coronavirus were given by the EFKA spokesman to ANT1.

“Rapid or PCR is not enough to pay a patient from EFKA, as for other diseases, a doctor’s opinion is needed,” EFKA spokesman Homeros Tsapalos told ANT1 and the “Good Morning Greece” show.

“EFKA is not the organization that just finds out that someone is sick, it is the body that manages the citizens’ money”, he underlined and explained that:

“The insured must be examined by a doctor to pay someone who will sit for more than five days”, adding that, it is not necessary to examine the patient for life, as “if the doctor is connected to EOPYY and declares it to the system of IDIKA, then the patient is paid normally “.

Regarding the method of payment, he said that, “in all diseases, there is an employer-EFKA ratio in the payment, as long as the employee has not exhausted the days of sick leave he is entitled to”.

“The five covid days are in addition to the sick leave days that the employee is entitled to,” he concluded.
