Coronavirus – Vaccine: Third dose for the vulnerable and over 50 in Britain

The proposal is its commemorative doses vaccine COVID-19 to be given to all vulnerable citizens and to those over 50 years of age six months after the second dose was given by British officials today.

This is a proposal that paves the way for a wide-ranging re-vaccination program this winter.

The Joint Vaccination and Immunization Committee Of Britain announced that the best choice for the third dose of the vaccine would be with the Pfizer formulation or alternatively with a half dose of the Moderna vaccine.

However, this Commission recommendation does not necessarily mean that there will be a recurring vaccination schedule every six months.

“I do not think I can say much about future aid programs because we simply do not have the data,” said Professor Lim Wei Sen, chairman of the commission.

Nevertheless, as the Deputy Chief Medical Officer of England, Jonathan Van-Tam, estimated today, this plan will play an important role in controlling the pandemic this winter, according to Reuters and as broadcast by the Athens News Agency.

He told reporters that “the booster program will have a significant impact on maintaining control over COVID and hospitalizations and deaths, and will relieve the NSS this winter.”

According to Van Tam, vaccines have saved 112,000 lives and prevented 24 million cases in the UK.

“Our latest estimates say that since we started giving them, these vaccines may have prevented 24 million cases of coronavirus in the UK and 112,000 deaths, they have been so successful and remain so. We have not overcome the pandemic – we remain in an active phase. “We know that this winter may have occasional upheavals,” Van Tam said.
