An elderly woman lived in utter terror India, who escaped the fire for a while when her family mistakenly thought she was dead and prepared her for cremation.
The 76-year-old woman, named Shakuntala Gaikwad, tested positive for coronavirus last week, according to the Daily Mail.
Her family reportedly took her to Silver Jubilee Hospital in Baramati, but it was full and they had to leave.
As relatives waited for an ambulance to arrive, the woman lost consciousness and thought they had died. So they prepared it for cremation.
Shortly before she was set on fire, however, the woman woke up in a panic and began to cry.
According to the report, the local police confirmed the story.
The woman was later taken to hospital.
India is living the coronavirus nightmare, with cases now exceeding 25 million.
The number of infections recorded in 24 hours reached 263,533, a level that, although it meant the continuation of the downward trend indicated by the official data in recent days, was enough for the country of Asia to become the second to surpass this frightening landmark.
