Correios closed in 2021 with a recurring profit of BRL 3.7 billion, a record result for the state-owned company, with Ebitda (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) of BRL 3.1 billion.
The numbers were released this Thursday (17) by the company, which is on the list of federal government companies in the crosshairs of privatization.
According to the state-owned company, the profit of R$ 3.7 billion exceeds the value realized in 2020 by 101%.
These are the best rates recorded in the last 22 years, the Correios said.
“The upward curve presented in the financial statements, together with the expressive results announced in 2020 and 2021, reflects the success of the financial recovery and economic sustainability project carried out by the management of Correios”, said the state company.
According to the company, the company also cleared a deficit of BRL 600 million with the health plan operator, which had lasted since 2019.
