Corruption charges against New York mayor

New York Democratic Mayor Eric Adams is expected to be indicted today in a federal investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office into his 2021 campaign finance, the New York Times and other US media reported today. Adams, 64, was elected mayor of America’s most populous city three years ago on a promise to tackle crime. But both he and others in his circle have been the target of several federal corruption investigations. Charges against Adams have not yet been officially announced, with federal prosecutors expected to announce them later in the day.
