Cosan informed this Wednesday that it has signed an agreement with the Chinese CCCC to acquire 100% of TUP Porto São Luís, according to a relevant fact.
The acquisition of the port project is important for the company to proceed with a joint venture in mining integrated by Cosan, which should start producing iron ore in Pará in 2025, as previously reported by the company.
With the signing of the contract, the company will proceed with the partial closing of the operation, with the immediate acquisition of minority interest, representing 49% of the capital of the port.
Cosan also said that a memorandum of understanding for the construction of a port, aimed at transporting ore, was signed with Concremat and companies in the CCCC group.
The definitive contracts for the construction of the port are subject to the closing of the acquisition of 100% of the shares in the port project.
