The gradual free upgrade of fixed broadband internet speeds for COSMOTE home and corporate subscribers begins, in areas where the optical fiber has not yet reached home and business and where this is technologically feasible. The upgrade is expected to be completed in 2022.
The fixed COSMOTE subscribers, home and corporate, to whom the upgrade is technically possible, will be transferred to the next commercially available Internet speed, maintaining the same price. In particular, subscribers with economical speed plans up to 24Mbps, up to 50Mbps and up to 100Mbps, will be upgraded to speeds up to 50Mbps, up to 100Mbps and up to 200Mbps respectively, without taking any action and without any change in the term of their contract or monthly fee. The upgrade will take place depending on each connection either automatically and remotely, or in some cases after technical implementation and communication with subscribers. Subscribers to whom the upgrade is possible, will be informed, immediately after its completion, through the fixed account, the My COSMOTE App and by text message (sms). The strategic decision of the OTE Group for a free upgrade to the next commercially available speed, was announced last December to the Prime Minister, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, by the CEO of Deutsche Telekom Group, Mr. Tim Höttges and the President and CEO of the OTE Group, Mr. Michalis Tsamaz, in a meeting that took place at the Maximos Palace.

The development of FTTH is progressing dynamically
The fiber optic infrastructure to the home (FTTH) of the COSMOTE Fiber network is developing dynamically. With a significant increase in total investments to over 3 billion euros by 2027, the OTE Group brings FTTH to 3 million homes and businesses. Implementing this project of great importance, the Group will cover about 2/3 of the lines of Greece with fiber optic to the home, thus responding to current and future needs and creating new perspectives for the digital development of the country. Today, the FTTH lines in the COSMOTE Fiber network exceed 600,000, while by the end of 2022 they will amount to about 1 million.
