Councilor Silmar Braga (PP) was shot this Monday morning (20) while leaving his home in Magé, in Baixada Fluminense. The politician was rescued, but ended up succumbing to his injuries.
According to Magé City Hall, Silmar was admitted to Magé Municipal Hospital at 9:45 am this Monday with a puncture wound caused by a gunshot. His health condition was very serious. The medical team attempted resuscitation, but was unsuccessful. Death was confirmed at 10:25 am.
The Baixada Fluminense Homicide Police Station is investigating the case.
On social media, Magé City Hall published a note of condolence over the death of the councilor.

Silmar was 50 years old, married and in his fourth consecutive term as councilor in Magé – the city where he was born. He leaves three children.
