Count Spencer and the homage to his sister Diana on her birthday

Today, July 1st, occurs the 61st birthday of the late Diana, Princess of Wales. The younger brother of the royal, Count Spencer, spoke on social media to remember this exciting milestone, sharing a moment of personal reflection with his followers.

In a post published on his Instagram and Twitter accounts, the Earl shared an image of a commemorative plaque for his missing sister, with the inscription: “The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial”. Alongside the image on Instagram, he explained: «Yesterday I was passing through a park in London, when suddenly I came across this plaque on the path – one of the many that dot parts of the capital, in memory of Diana. It’s amazing to think of the lasting impact of a woman who died so young. Today, 25 years later, it would have been her 61st birthday. “

The same photograph was shared on Twitter the previous day with the following caption: “I found myself inadvertently walking around on this today. “Moving” is the right word, I think, especially the day before Diana’s birthday ».

On his Instagram Stories, meanwhile, the historian and author shared a video of the beautiful grounds of Althorp House, his family residence, where Diana is buried on an islet within a lake. Young Lady Diana Spencer grew up in Althorpin western Northamptonshire, with his brothers: two older sisters, Lady Sarah and Lady Jane Spencer, and their younger brother, the present Earl Spencer.
