Timely reporting can sometimes save a life. It happened to Victory, a little dog from Catania who had been spotted with snout and paws tied by duct tape. Or a Igora Newfoundland dog from Verona, kept in a state of decay, filth and solitude without water and food every other day. And again to Balla mixed breed from Trento repeatedly beaten and kicked by her owner.

These are just a few examples of mistreatment, successfully resolved thanks to the intervention of the local authorities, following the report of the LAV – AntiVivisection League.
And the non-profit organization, active since 1977 “on the side of the animals” (as the claim states), in collaboration with the forces of order, has created an App and the first two territorial counters against animal abuse, which will open on 11 and 12 January in Verona and Trento. A way to make reporting immediate, simple and easy of a situation he sees any kind of animal in difficulty. In a house, a farm or in wild contexts, abuse, killings, abandonments, illegal sales and poisonings can be reported to the physical counters of the two cities, by telephone or on the App. Once the report has been received and the reliability and the crime verified the police forces will intervene on the indicated place.

How does the App work? Practical and effective tool, theApplication allows you to select the location (currently only in the provinces of Trento and Verona), indicating the type of abuse, the place and the animal or animals involved (domestic, farmed, exotic or wild). At this point you leave your data and describe what happened by typing the details in the space ad hoc. The authorities will intervene, in collaboration with the association, to bring the animal to safety and denounce those responsible for the crime.
The report can concern any animal victim of abuse: domestic, exotic, wild or farmed (photo Andrea Morabito/ LAV).
A first step to spread awareness among the population, defend the rights of innocent creatures and facilitate the intervention of the police. And a way to bring to light violence and abuses, which otherwise would be consumed with impunity in the shadow of a gate or in the silence of a suburb.
