Sudan has been left without telecommunications a day after military coup in the African country. The news was broadcast by the Al-Hadath television network, which belongs to Saudi interests and is based in Dubai.
So far, as reported by the Athens News Agency, citing Reuters, there is no official confirmation or refutation of the telecommunications blackout.
Of the seven so far dead – 140 injured
Seven people were killed by gunfire while another 140 were injured in demonstrations against the seizure of power by the army in Sudan on Monday (25/10), according to an official of the country’s Ministry of Health.
Coup d’etat in Sudan: UN Security Council convened
Today, Tuesday (26/10) the UN Security Council is expected to hold an extraordinary closed-door meeting to discuss the military coup in Sudan.
The meeting is being held at the request of six Western countries – the United Kingdom, Ireland, Norway, the United States, Estonia and France – sources told the French Agency.
