The procedures were performed in establishments located in the Gutierrez neighborhood. Health institutions noticed the fraud only after the suspects left, when they confirmed that the vouchers presented did not correspond to valid transactions.
Investigations point out that the couple acted in an articulated manner, “after schedule care and surgeries, presented counterfeit payment documents and then left the establishments without paying off the values.”
According to the delegate Leonardo Estevam Lopes, the Civil Police investigation brought together documentary and witness elements that showed the willful conduct and joint action of the investigated. “This indicates clear fraudulent intent and joint action of the suspects, resulting in a huge damage to the victims,” he said.
The investigation was conducted by the 2nd Southern Civil Police Station, with support from the Southern Regional Police Station.
