The funerals of the business couple who died after a helicopter crash in Caieiras, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo, are expected to take place this weekend.
André Feldman, 50 years old, was CEO of BiG Brazil, a betting company authorized to operate in Brazil. His wife, also businesswoman Juliana Feldman, aged 49, worked in the fashion sector.
Juliana should be buried this Saturday (18) in Americana, in the interior of São Paulo. André Feldman’s farewell ceremony is scheduled to take place on Sunday (19) at the Cemitério Israelita do Butantã, in the west of São Paulo.
According to BiG Brazil, the daughter of the couple who survived the helicopter crash is fine and is expected to be discharged this Saturday (18). The girl, who spent hours in the Morro do Tico-Tico forest until she was rescued, turned 12 years old on the day of the accident.
According to the company, the aircraft’s pilot, Edenilson de Oliveira Costa, is stable and under observation in the hospital.
About the accident
An EC 130B4 model helicopter, registration number PRWVT, crashed in Caieiras, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo, in Morro do Tico-Tico, close to Rodovia dos Bandeirantes, on Thursday night (16). The aircraft, which had taken off from São Paulo bound for Americana, lost GPS signal at around 8:34 pm.
On board were the pilot Edenilson de Oliveira Costa, the couple André and Juliana Feldman, and the couple’s 12-year-old daughter.
Rescue teams, including the Águia helicopter from the Military Police, Fire Department and Civil Defense, began the search in the early hours of Friday (17). Adverse weather conditions, with heavy rain and closed weather, made operations difficult.
The pilot and his daughter were found alive and rescued on Friday morning (17). Both were taken to Hospital das Clínicas, in São Paulo, and their lives are not at risk.
The causes of the accident continue to be investigated by Cenipa (Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention Center).
