'Course Tightening' on TikTok in US – Bill overwhelmingly passes banning it

Another step toward banning TikTok in the US was taken today, as the House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved a bill that would ban the popular social media platform from the country unless its Chinese owner sells it. The TikTok ban was included in the vote on the $95 billion foreign aid package for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan and, according to CNN, passed by 360 votes to 58. The bill required ByteDance, TikTok's parent company, to sell the app within months or face being banned from Apple and Google's US app stores. The bill will go to the Senate for a vote next week.
