A court in Madagascar sentenced a man to a surgical castration for the rape of a child in 2024, a judicial official said the first time this sentence was imposed in the country. The man was sentenced to rape and attempt to kill a 6 -year -old girl in a 30km community from Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar, explained the Attorney General of the Court of Appeal where the case was heard. “The person accused in this case was sentenced by the court to life imprisonment with forced labor and castration,” he added in a statement distributed in the media by the Ministry of Justice. The castration of castration was adopted last year in Madagascar in the context of a law on the rape of minors 10 years and below.
