Thanks to the use of innovative technology and a deep knowledge of imaging, the brand has given color to some photographs of the past to tell the hidden story. The initiative, presented in London, made it possible to give life to one collection of iconic shots, some over 80 years old, which have undergone a lengthy restoration process by the experts at Getty Images.
Composed by seven photographs, the collection portrays significant moments such as the first African American athletes to win Wimbledon – Althea Gibson and Arthur Ashe – giving new life to a key moment in the history of tennis, and sport in general. The images of Suzanne Lenglen, Helen Jacobs and Fred Perry, famous for bringing style and glamor to the playing field, pay homage to true cultural icons, who have fought for their identity and beliefs – from the change of fashion in and off the pitch, overcoming some stereotypes towards female athletes.
