Brazil recorded 139 deaths from Covid-19 and 40,633 new cases of the disease in 24 hours, according to an update from the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass) carried out this Friday (27).
That number is nearly double the rate recorded on April 27, when the country had 20,943 infections in one day.
As a result, the moving average of deaths, which is up four three days in a row, was 118. The moving average of cases was 22,676.
The indices consider the average number of infections and deaths recorded in the last seven days.
These data allow monitoring of the pandemic indicators without possible distortions caused by possible underreporting on weekends.
The updates do not include new data from Acre due to technical problems in accessing the systems’ information base. In this way, the same numbers as the previous day were kept.
The country has recorded 30,921,145 cases and 666,319 deaths from Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.
