Covid, hospital visits to the sick restart

From 10 March they will finally be able to restart visits to the hospital, for 45 minutes a day: this is the content of an amendment signed by Annamaria Parente (IV), with Davide Faraone, which was approved by the Social Affairs Commission with a reformulation of the Government which provides for entry into force from 10 March, to give the necessary time to the directors health professionals to organize themselves for the management of visits. Good news for all the sick, especially for those forced into long hospital stays, and for their families, but also for pregnant women who are approaching the day of delivery.

“With this amendment we have taken the requests of many associations and individuals, who have given us their testimony stories of suffering and pain in not being able to visit bedridden relatives in hospital, with serious illnesses, such as tumors and more », explained Parente, president of the Hygiene and Health Commission of the Senate.

“If, in fact, many medical directors have reopened access to hospital wards to allow visits to their loved ones, many others have not. Until now, access to family members is only allowed in waiting rooms and with very variable durations, but in any case short, despite the fact that there have been positive experiences of openings without any clusters having arisen. A norm was needed that would clarify and restore uniformity ».

For visits to the hospital it will be necessary to observe the same measures as for RSA: wear the Ffp2 mask and be in possession of the certification that shows the successful vaccination with three doses or that you have recovered from Covid after completing the primary vaccination course (in this case you also need the negative swab).
