Covid vaccine, from 3 June open to all

From 3 June, vaccinations can be administered without age limits. Ages twelve and up. This is the program drawn up by the Commissioner for Emergency Francesco Figliuolo with which the mass vaccination campaign begins, which will also include adolescents.

“I had already included adolescents in the Plan presented in March,” explained Figliuolo during his visit to Umbria. “It will also include the class from 12 to 15 years old.” The supply of vaccine doses is strengthening (20 million doses are expected in June) and vaccination coverage for the most vulnerable groups is good, for this reason the Emergency Commissioner is ready to make vaccination open to all without age limits in every region.

A provision partly anticipated by some regions that in recent days have opened to everyone with open days.

“Before the start of the school year, the maximum possible coverage must be guaranteed for the entire vaccinable student population”, Figliuolo emphasized. Confirmation from the Italian drug agency (Aifa) for the administration of Pfizer up to 12 years is expected in the coming days, while Ema (European drug agency) has already given its approval. The new vaccination system also provides for administration within companies and therefore in the workplace. The doses will be provided by the local health authorities.

“From the 3 June a letter will be sent to the Regions and Autonomous Provinces with which it will be possible to open vaccinations a all classes following the Plan and using all points of administration possible, even those of the company ”, explained Figliuolo, underlining the importance of intercepting people in the 60-69 age group who have not yet vaccinated. «With procedures also of the so-called“ active call ”we must go and intercept the population that is not yet vaccinated. So, if i fragile subjects you go to look for them, you need above all to secure these classes. Vaccinations for the over 80s have exceeded 90% nationally, the over 70s are over 80% ».
