Covid, what are the rules still in force?

The expert advice is clear: always spacing and masks when there are gatherings. These are the basic rules to follow even during the summer months because Covid is still there. There variant 5 it has, according to experts, its peak in this month of July: it is more contagious than the previous ones, but with symptoms that are really similar to a flu. The official numbers, however, do not seem true: the cases would be many more than those officially declared. The relaxation of restrictions has resulted in increased circulation of the virus. However, not all the rules have lapsed. There are some still in effect.

What the positives must do

For those who take Covid, the isolation starting from the positive buffer is still in force. There are differences based on vaccination status.

For unvaccinated or vaccinated individuals who have completed the primary vaccination course (two doses) for more than 120 days and for those recovered for more than 120 days, isolation lasts 10 days. At the end of the period, a negative antigen or molecular test is needed. If it is positive, the isolation continues.

Isolation it is seven days for third dose vaccinees or who have completed the vaccination course less than 120 days or have recovered less than 120 days. In the end you always need the negative antigen or molecular test. If you are symptomatic, the final test should be done three days after the end of the symptoms. If you are positive, the next test is done after 7 days.

Anyone can come out of isolation after 21 days if there have been no symptoms in the past week. No swab needed.

What close contacts of positives need to do

There is no isolation, but self-monitoring. Ffp2 masks must always be worn indoors and, in the event of gatherings, also outdoors. The rule is valid for 10 days. A test must be done when the first symptoms of Covid appear. If this test is negative and the symptoms remain, do it again on the fifth day following the date of the last contact.

Masks

They remain mandatory on trains, ships and local public transport (metro, tram, bus, courier). Ffp2 masks are needed until September 30th. No obligation for air flights.

Instead, they are necessary for health facilities. They do not have to be Ffp2, but they must be worn by workers, users and visitors of health, socio-health and social assistance facilities, including hospitality and long-term care facilities, assisted healthcare residences (RSA), rehabilitation facilities, residential facilities for the elderly.

Until June 30, the masks must be used by private sector workers on the basis of agreements with the representatives of the various sectors. The technical table at the Ministry of Labor meets to decide whether to extend the ordinance. The most accredited hypothesis is that it remains an obligation only in those sectors where it is not possible to maintain the distance. Each company can make specific agreements with workers.

Green pass

From May there is no longer any obligation to show the Green Pass which remains as proof of vaccination. It is used for healthcare workers and external RSA employees. You do not need certification to travel and there is no longer the Passenger Location Form which no longer has to be filled out by those arriving from abroad who will not even have to show green certification or the result of a swab.
