Cow on the closed lane via Linha Vermelha (RJ) this Wednesday morning (9)

The Rio de Janeiro Traffic Engineering Company closed a Red Line lane at the height of São João de Meriti, in Baixada Fluminense, after drivers reported seeing a cow loose on the expressway on the morning of this Wednesday (9).

A video sent by a driver passing by in the early morning shows the animal agitated, crossing from one lane to another.

The cow was tied up, but soon traffic agents were able to locate the owner, who lived in a nearby community. As he is a person with a physical disability, he claimed that he would not be able to take her home alone and asked for help to remove the cow from the place.

The Undersecretary of Surveillance, Sanitary Inspection and Control of Zoonoses of the city hall (Subvisa), Firefighters and Military Police gave support to the action and the animal managed to be rescued.

According to CET-RJ, the cow was treated and “does well”.
