After significant investments in the production of “green” recycled aluminum, the EPDs (Environmental Product Declarations) for integrated architectural systems and the honorary distinction “Most Sustainable Company in Greece 2022” as a company – model of the sustainable development model, ALUMIL becomes the first Greek Aluminum architectural systems company that receives the international Cradle to Cradle Certified® (C2C) Silver certification for a wide range of products, validating their viability.
A total of 34 systems (glass curtains, opening & sliding, as well as a bellows) received C2C Certified® certification. This particularly important certification is the culmination of ALUMIL’s efforts and actions to consolidate a business strategy intertwined with the values of sustainability, sustainability and the circular economy.
C2C Certified® is the global standard for safe and sustainable circular products created with environmental responsibility. Leading brands, retailers, designers and manufacturers in the global value chain rely on this model to ensure that the impact of their products is positive for humans and the planet. Through a thorough and complex evaluation process, ALUMIL received Silver level certification based on the following five criteria:
1. Material health: Determining the chemical composition of the materials that make up the product and ensuring that the materials are safe for humans and the environment.
2. Product cycle: Product reuse and contribution to the circular economy.
3. Air Quality & Climate Protection: Clean air protection, use of renewable energy sources and minimization of dangerous emissions and pollutants.
4. Water & soil management: Protection of clean water and maintenance of soil health.
5. Social responsibility: Respect for human rights, contribution to a society of justice and equality, implementation of fair work practices.
With Cradle to Cradle Certified® certification, ALUMIL opens new perspectives for participation in projects in accordance with the principles of Sustainable Building and Bioclimatic Architecture, for “green” buildings with high energy efficiency.
