An accident between a car from the Health Department of Timbó Grande (SC) and a box truck resulted in the deaths of three people this Thursday morning (11). All the dead were women and occupied the official vehicle, a Gol model.
One of the victims, Silvia Guesser da Luz, was 38 years old, worked at the Timbó Grande city hall and was the one driving the city hall vehicle. She was taking passengers Maria Valcir de Guis and Maria Rosa Silveira Lourenço, residents of the municipality, to consultations and oncological exams in Joaçaba (SC). The distance between the cities is 207 km.
Still in Timbó Grande, the victims were traveling along the SC-340 highway when they collided head-on with a box truck that was driven by a 23-year-old man. He wasn't hurt.
According to the 2nd Fire Brigade of Santa Cecília (SC), which responded to the incident, all victims were found trapped in the vehicle's hardware. The agents had to set up a stage of tools and carry out other protocol care procedures to remove them from the site with the help of cutting tools.
Through its social networks, the city of Timbó Grande paid tribute to the victims and announced that the municipality's Health Department will operate until Friday (12) only in cases of emergency.
