Crater on Marginal Tietê is filled with concrete, and technicians assess stabilization

The concreting of the crater opened in Marginal Tietê after an accident in the work of Line 6-Orange of the Metro was completed on Wednesday night (2), informed the state government.

This Thursday (3), the secretary of Metropolitan Transport and other authorities will assess the need to place stakes to contain the area.

With this, it will be possible to determine whether the release of the central lane of Marginal Tietê will be carried out in 3 or 9 days, according to estimates. So far, only the Marginal expressway towards Ayrton Senna is fully open to traffic after the accident.

More than 4,000 m³ of concrete and 12,000 m³ of stones were used in a service that involved 220 government workers, Sabesp and the Linha Universidades consortium, headed by the Italian company triggerresponsible for the works on Line 6-Orange of the subway.

In an interview with CNNthe civil engineer of the Brazilian Institute of Assessments and Expertise (Ibape) in São Paulo, Luís Otávio Rosa, explained that the process of filling the hole with rocks and concrete serves to stabilize the earth in the region of the hole, and, consequently, to prevent new landslides.

In this way, it will be possible to later remove the sewage water that leaked at the site to carry out an expert inspection, which will determine the recovery project.
