A new series in the same universe as “The Office” may be developed, this is because Greg Daniels , which adapted the English title for North American TV, set up a development room with its trusted writers. The information is from “Deadline” magazine.
According to the publication, work is scheduled to begin on Tuesday (16) to explore ideas for a new program.
The potential new series – which would not be a reboot – would likely be set in a new office with new characters, but would be in the same world as the series led by Steve Carell which follows employees of the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of a fictional company.
The main executives of NBCU, the broadcaster responsible for “The Office” have stated several times that they would be interested in a new model in the series if Daniels wanted it.
Talks about the continuation of the series have been circulating almost since the end of the program. Although Daniels has emphasized multiple times that he would not be interested in restarting production and revisiting the original characters with new actors, he is open to continuing in some capacity.
“The Office” debuted in 2005 and has Steve Carrell , John Krasinski , Rainn Wilson , BJ Novak , Jenna Fischer , Mindy Kaling , Leslie David Baker , Melora Hardin , Kate Flannery, Brian Baumgartner , Ed Helms , Oscar Nuñez It is Craig Robinson in the cast.
The series lasted 9 seasons before ending in 2013, with James Spader taking over the lead following Carell's departure in season 7.
