Crew-9 astronauts will have to recover terrestrial skills, says NASA

You Sunni Astronauts Williams, Butch Wilmore , Nick Hague and the cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov left the space ship Crew Dragon from Spacex, after the successful landing that occurred in the late afternoon of Tuesday (18).

Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore stayed in the space for nine months after the spaceship had suffered technical problems by giving the international space station. In a live press conference, NASA representatives gave more details about the Crew-9 mission, as well as the next steps of astronauts.

“The successful landing will go to history books,” said Steve Stich, the agency’s commercial representative. He started highlighting the favorable climate for the successful return of astronauts and the entire ship system functioning as planned. “It couldn’t be more proud.”

Having a long time in space, Sunita and Butch, especially will need to recover the earth’s skills.

“The muscles need to work again and they will have to relearn their skills,” said Stich. “Exercise will focus on the coming weeks,” he added.

After returning to land, they underwent an immediate medical evaluation with a flight surgeon – a standard procedure for astronauts that complete long -term missions, according to NASA.

According to the agency’s representative, they should, however, return to their family within two days.

After the vehicle hit the ocean, a Spacex rescue ship removed the water spacecraft and the crew could breathe the air air again. See here what happens in the body of astronauts who spend so much time in space.

Last year, NASA decided that taking Williams and Wilmore home aboard its Boeing Starliner capsule would be very risky, so the agency chose to include both in the regular rotation of the international space station crew.

This decision is why the pair returned home with Hague and Gorbunov at Spacex Crew-9.
