“Crime and Punishment” – Elon Musk on the confession of a Russian in an attempt to hack Tesla

Tesla CEO Elon Musk left a message “Crime and Punishment” on his page on the social network, with which he commented on the admission of Russian Yegor Kryuchkov in an attempt to organize a cyberattack on the company’s computer network.

On March 18, in the United States, 27-year-old Yegor Kryuchkov admitted that he tried to bribe a Tesla employee in order to introduce a virus into its computer network. The Russian wanted to get access to the classified information of the company, with the help of which he was going to blackmail Tesla.

Sources say that Yegor Kryuchkov came to Nevada several times and tried to establish contact with a Tesla employee. As for the bribe, it was about a million dollars in cryptocurrency. However, a Tesla employee reported this to the leadership, which, together with the FBI, revealed the criminal plot.

It should be noted that Kryuchkov was detained in this case in Los Angeles back in August last year, but until that moment the Russian did not admit his guilt.

The verdict will be passed on May 10, the Russian faces up to five years in prison.
