Three suspects, 27, 30 and 32, were arrested on the morning of Wednesday (26), in the cities of Rio Largo and Zumbi dos Palmares, in Alagoas. After five months of investigations, police concluded that the accused participated in the murders of a teenager and a man.
The double homicide took place in September 2024 in the city of Rio Largo. The victims were identified as Renato Emanuel de Lima, 15, and Humberto Batista da Silva, 21.
The friends, who lived together, were torn from home and kidnapped. The bodies of the victims were found by the Alagoas police on a farm in the countryside, known as Canoas Farm.
Delegate Rosimere Vieira, responsible for the operation, explained that the victims were submitted to a “crime court”, and their death sentences were allegedly determined due to their involvement with theft in the community. In addition, they would be passing on information to a rival criminal faction.
According to police, the accused are involved in homicides and drug trafficking in the Rio Largo region. During the operation, the staff seized the car used to transport the victims from where they were kidnapped to the double homicide site. In addition, electronic devices such as cell phones were also collected.
