Crime in Ireland with a rooster abuser: Man dies after attack

In Irelanda man, Jasper Kraus, found tragic death in his home, after being attacked by an “enraged” rooster. The rooster had taken up residence in Kraus’s home after an earlier attack on a child, the court heard.

As the investigating officer of the case, Garda Eoin Browne, said when he was called to the scene of the crime, found the unfortunate Kraus on his kitchen floor in a pool of blood. The paramedics who had arrived before Browne at the scene, informed him that they tried to keep him alive, but without success.

According to the victim’s daughter, Virginia Guinan, she she had visited her father’s house a few hours before the fatal incident to leave him some medicine. When she entered the house, her father was asleep. As she mentioned, her father was in remission from cancer and was receiving medication at home.

Later that day, Corey O’Keeffe, who was a tenant at her father’s house, contacted her and told her what had happened to her father. When he got home, he saw blood all over the floor and nurses to try to save her father.

On Kraus’ body, there was a puncture wound on his left leg, which had caused heavy bleeding. In one of the other rooms, the television was still on and a cigarette was still smoking, Guinan said.

As it says Irish examineras Guinan searched for clues as to what might have happened to her father, he found a trail of blood from the house to where the chicken coop was. Later, she saw one of the chickens with blood on its claws and suspected it was the one that had attacked her father “as he had attacked my daughter before.”.

For Corey O’Keeffe’s part, he testified that he lived at the address for two years and looked after the animals there, which included chickens and ducks. Some of the animals belonged to him and some to the late Mr. Kraus.

On the fateful night, when he returned from his night shift, he fed his animals and talked to Kraus. But, later, he heard Kraus yelling at him to hurry to him. When he arrived, he saw blood running from the back of the man’s leg and a large gash on his calf, but also two other scratches on the other leg. He immediately called the ambulance. According to O’Keeffe, as Kraus was dying, he said the word “cock».

According to the first doctor who arrived at the scene, Dr. Annette Jennings, she stated in her testimony that the circumstances of the man’s death were unusual, as a wound had been inflicted on his left calf by a chicken.

Finally, giving direct evidence at the inquest, Dr Ramadan Shatwan said that when he carried out the post-mortem, the deceased’s face was covered with dry blood, but there were no cuts on his face. Both lower limbs were also covered in blood. He said the cause of death was fatal cardiac arrhythmia in the setting of severe coronary atheroma and cardiomegaly.
