The Paraná Military Police (PMPR) seized more than 2.8 tons of drugs in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba, last Friday (13).
The seizure, which included 2.7 tons of marijuana and 127 kg of cocaine, took place in two locations, a truck in the municipality of Araucária and a warehouse in São José dos Pinhais. One detail caught the attention of the police when they identified that the criminals used a forklift to move the large volume of drugs.
The action began with the approach of a truck transporting more than 300 kg of marijuana in Araucária, by police officers from the 17th Military Police Battalion (17th BPM). The investigations took the agents to a warehouse in the rural area of São José dos Pinhais, where the rest of the drugs were stored.
Three men were arrested, including the truck driver and two individuals found in the warehouse. PMPR estimates that the operation caused losses of R$10 million to trafficking.
All the seized material, including the forklift, the truck and the drugs, was sent to the 1st Regional Police Station of the Civil Police of São José dos Pinhais.
