The Attorney General of the State of São Paulo, Mário Sarrubbo, said this Tuesday (8) that there is a “large criminal organization” with pre-defined functions, financers and collectors, referring to obstructions on the country’s highways.
For Sarrubbo, there are businessmen involved in the financing. The names, however, were not released.
“There is organized movement, which started with the roads and now they went to barracks and we are seeing. There is a large criminal organization with predefined roles, with funders and fundraisers with messages from Pix and we are establishing who played what role. The idea is to bring this organization down,” he said.
According to Sarrubbo, the idea is to gather information and continue the identification work.
“These are entrepreneurs that we can’t talk about yet, but entrepreneurs are funding these movements. There is an important financial issue. The movements are very similar,” she said.
The prosecutor stated that he was in favor of the demonstration, but the return of AI-5 cannot be accepted or that the elections should not be respected.
The statement came after a meeting with the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes and the prosecutors of Espírito Santo and Santa Catarina to discuss investigations into obstructions on highways and whether there was funding.
In addition to Sarrubbo, the attorney general of the Public Ministry of Santa Catarina, Fernando Comin, and the attorney general of Espírito Santo, Luciana Andrade, were present.
Prosecutor Luciana Andrade stated that, in addition to the roadblocks and centralized movements in some cities, there is also a movement by the business community in the so-called “Schindler’s List”, which is to create a list of people and entrepreneurs whose consumers should not consume products or services.
“The free enterprise of trade is not something we haven’t seen for many, many years. This has also had the watchful eye of the Public Ministry as a defender of democracy and needs to be repudiated by any citizen on the Brazilian ladder. Entrepreneurs have acted directly in an analogous and very simultaneous work”, he said.
