An armored car was attacked by criminals in the early evening of this Monday (10) on Rodovia Engenheiro Thales de Lorena Peixoto Júnior, in São Carlos, in the interior of São Paulo.
A bus with university students, which was going from São Carlos to Ribeirão Preto, was hit during the exchange of gunfire between armored car agents and bandits. Nobody was injured.
The bus driver, Igor Custódio, reported the incident to CNN . According to him, around 7 pm, a Mitsubishi Outlander pickup truck passed his vehicle. About 500 meters ahead, the truck intercepted an armored car and began shooting.
Custódio described the scene: “When they arrived at the armored car, he arrived shooting. The armored car tried to retreat, but they shot out the tires, and there was nothing to be done.” Upon realizing the situation, the driver took measures to protect the passengers: “I managed to stop the bus and told everyone that it was a robbery, so that everyone could get down.”
While trying to reverse the bus, the vehicle was hit: “We were hit on the windshield, but, thank God, no one was hurt.”
