Two criminals were arrested in the act for having participated in several vehicle thefts in Baixada Fluminense, according to the Civil Police Secretariat of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
They were identified as Renan Felipe Candidao Honorato and Fabiano Moreira da Silva.
A firearm and a stolen motorcycle were seized from the suspects on August 31, in Belford Roxo. The robbery was carried out by members of the same criminal group of which the detainees are part.
According to the Civil Police, the two criminals were looking for victims for new robberies, when they were arrested in the act, in the Posse neighborhood, in Nova Iguaçu.
The criminals reported that they are linked to drug traffickers in the “Complexo do Chapadão”. The arrest is part of Operation Tourniquet by the Rio de Janeiro Civil Police, which will continue with investigations.
