“We all have willpower, we just have to know how to channel it in the right way.” Cristina Marino, personal trainer Coni, fitness influencer, mother of Nina and wife of Luca Argentero, does not discount: wanting is power and we can all turn into the best version of ourselves, just overcome mental laziness. Finding the time to dedicate is a choice to be made every day, everything else (often) are excuses.
Cristina has just published her first book The Befancyfit method edito da Sperling & Kupfer, which collects the work done in recent years on the Befancyfit platform dedicated to wellness. A motivational manual with lots of practical and proactive tips to train, eat healthy and indulge in well-deserved beauty pampering. Between the lines emerge his disruptive force and his contagious vitality which is impossible to remain inert because «not taking care of your body is simply wrong. But you only notice it when you start doing it ».
“Loving yourself is the first rule to be well”, Cristina’s method begins with this axiom. Simple but powerful, and it couldn’t be otherwise because we owe it to ourselves. Light The Befancyfit method it is equivalent to taking a wellness trip with a very clear starting and ending point. A journey to discover your own body that promises better physical shape, but above all a new and healthy lifestyle, aware and far from the stereotype of the scale. The secret is listen to your body, try, make mistakes, experiment and understand what is good for us. So it was for Cristina who, before finding her personal balance of well-being, went by trial and error, followed different types of training and nutrition, until she felt the perfect combination within herself.
Cristina, you have the gift of being able to change those who follow you for the better, can you learn this strength of mind and desire to bite into life or do we have it inside?
«I was educated to sport since I was a child, I have been skiing, dancing, horseback riding… training for me is a necessity and I cannot imagine my life standing still. Training as well as eating well are self-care gestures and are the best way to love yourself. For me this is the only possible conception with which we can set up our life, we cannot be unaware of what we eat, what the body needs to feel good. I am convinced that it is a question of mental laziness to fight, discipline requires constancy and it is a choice, not simple but within everyone’s reach ».
It all starts with loving each other, how do you do it?
«We must choose to love each other, each in his own way, finding his own truth and serenity. This is true in nutrition as well as in training: the important thing is not the final goal, but the initial decision ».
If you want you can. Success is building a wellness routine on yourself, can you give us any advice?
“We all have willpower, we just need to know how to channel it. Personally it was transmitted to me by my grandmother and my mother, two extraordinary women with volcanic explosiveness. I am convinced that we are often better at making excuses than acting, yet doing something for ourselves triggers a virtuous circle in which we love ourselves more and are better for others too. On Befancyfit there are workouts for all needs, the Summer section includes circuits without tools designed for the summer, twenty minutes are enough even while on vacation. The difference is how it feels after doing something for yourself. “
How do you train?
«I train about 40 minutes but not every day, 3-4 times a week. I like to change and experiment: interval workout with the fitball, I use the rope, the kettlebells, I do tabata circuits: in general I prefer functional training, which is the most complete for the body and can be adapted and built on oneself. The secret to avoiding the muscles getting used to it is to vary ».
His me-time beauty?
“A face mask, no doubt.”
What advice do you feel to give to new mothers struggling with the transformation of the body and free time?
“I think the arrival of a baby doesn’t stop you from doing something for yourself. I have always trained even with Nina in the crib, she laughed and I saw that she was happy. Maybe it’s just a feeling that I want to tell myself, but if a child sees his mother happy, he can only absorb this positive energy. I recommend finding your own escape valve, a time when you can only stay focused on what you are doing. Let us always remember that we are not only mothers, we are also women ».
In the preface of the book, her husband (the actor Luca Argentero, ed) tells all the good things he learned from her and how her strength of mind is a constant source of inspiration for him. In this journey with Befancyfit, what was your mark?
«Luca is a person who encourages you to give your best. Befancyfit was a small company, it was he who convinced me to do things seriously, to turn the project into a company and a real job, he believed in it very much right away. I am a very spontaneous, direct person, he instead helps me to be more rational and act less gut, his calmness compensates me and allows me to be in balance ».
