The movie “Anora” won as Best Movie node Critics Choice Awards 2025 considered one of the main Oscar thermometers. The awards took place this Friday (8), in Los Angeles, in the United States.
“Anora” It tells the story of a sex worker, lived by Mikey Madison (“panic”), who decides to marry impulsively with a young Russian. However, as the groom’s family, who is the son of a Russian oligarch, begins to investigate the life of Anora, his dream of a happy ending is threatened.
For the feature, Madison said he learned to speak Russian and trained pole Dancing. “I spent months training for a brief 20 -second scene at Pole Dance, because I wanted my character to look like an experienced dancer, with years of practice,” she said during the Toronto International Film Festival.
The film is the latest project of Sean Baker filmmaker known for his works in “Tangerine” (2015) and “Florida Project” (2017).
“Anora” premiered in Brazilian theaters on January 23rd. Watch the trailer for the feature below:
