Cross saves and mod manager: Cyberpunk 2077 latest update for PS4 and Xbox One is out

Yesterday, September 6, developers from the CD Projekt RED studio officially announced the 1.6 update for the Cyberpunk 2077 video game, which, unfortunately, will be the last major update of the project for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. Accordingly, in the foreseeable future, developers, of course, will release minor fixes for bugs and shortcomings, but it is no longer worth waiting for major changes in the balance, new functions or features on older consoles. Now Polish specialists have concentrated on PCs and next-generation consoles, which, theoretically, should free their hands and give them more opportunities to implement fresh ideas.

However, even on such a sad note, the 1.6 update brings many interesting and important innovations to the virtual world. For example, the Polish developers implemented a wardrobe feature that allows the player to change the appearance of a character by dressing them in different clothes, without having to worry about changing the armor rating and other characteristics. In RPGs, this problem is ubiquitous – the gamer almost always chooses between beautiful armor and more advanced features of ugly equipment, but in Cyberpunk 2077, thanks to the wardrobe function, you can get both.

In addition, Cyberpunk 2077 now has full support for cross-platform saves. This is an insanely important video game upgrade that allows you to load saves from a PC, for example, to continue the passage on the PlayStation 5 console from the same place where the player left off. It is strange, of course, that it took the developers two whole years to implement such an obvious and necessary feature, but, on the other hand, they had plenty of work without it. And it’s likely that this feature will especially appeal to older console owners who now want to move to PC or a new platform while keeping all their achievements.

Rounding out the list of important changes is a tool called REDmod, which, according to CD Projekt KUV, will allow you to more comfortably install custom modifications, manage them, and, most importantly, create your own mods. Of course, support for mods in the game has been implemented for more than a year, but thanks to the new tool, working with modifications will be much easier – plus, you can easily add your own sounds, animations, and even quest scripts to the game without any difficulty and special knowledge.
