According to a source, the Toyota RAV4 crossover has become the most popular Japanese car in Russia in the first quarter of this year. During the reporting period, 7594 RAV4s were sold. Compared to the same period last year (10,334 units) – a quarter less, but other Japanese cars were sold even less.

So, for example, Toyota Camry is in second place – 5171 of them were sold in the first quarter (and this is 3% more than a year earlier). Third place was secured by another crossover – Nissan Qashqai (4452 units sold this year, 8% less than in the first quarter of 2021). The top 5 also included Mazda CX-5 (sales for the reporting period decreased by 24% year-on-year, from 5641 to 4282 units) and Mitsubishi Outlander (4152 cars sold in the first quarter of 2022, which is 16% higher than sales for the same period in 2021 – 3578 units).
In total, 45,202 cars of Japanese brands were sold in Russia in the first quarter of 2022. This is almost 11 thousand less than in the same period last year. In the volume of all cars of Japanese brands sold in the Russian Federation, they occupied 17.25% of the market.
