Crypto project XAI suits the XII Ilona Mask

The XAI game network based on Ethereum accused the XII AI-Startap, supported by Ilon Mask, in violation of the rights to trademark and unfair competition.

According to the documents submitted to the Federal District Court of the Northern District of California, the billionaire project created mass confusion in the market, causing damage to the XII brand.

The maternal company of the Game Protocol EX Populus said that she used the XII trademark since June 2023 – this was the name of the protocol and token.

Musk announced its XAI in July of the same year. The lawsuit contains evidence in the form of screenshots from social networks and sites.

“The huge base of users and the influence in the market that the defendants possessed, led to the massive error of consumers regarding the connection of the mask and his company with the plaintiff and the Xai brand,” the documents said.

At the same time, confusion was aggravated when in 2024 the XAI announced plans to launch a game studio.

As confirmation, the prosecution attached a post from the Binance forum, in which the user had to explain the difference between the projects.

Representatives of EX Populus claim that the damage goes beyond the lost business reputation. XAI was faced with the “serious negative attitude of consumers” due to the ambiguous image of the mask and scandals around the XII products.

In addition, the businessman’s legal team tried to put pressure on EX Populus in order to force her to abandon his rights, threatening the cancellation of registration in the United States, the lawsuit said.

The US Office has already suspended several applications for registration from the XAI.

Ex Populus seeks the complete abolition of the company’s author’s claims, compensation for damage for violation of the rights and court decisions prohibiting the Mask company to use the disputed name.
