CryptoCompare’s subsidiary CC Data Limited has been cleared by the UK FCA to collect data and issue benchmarks for digital assets.
CryptoCompare, a company that collects and organizes data on cryptocurrencies, received permission from the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to work as a benchmark administrator. CryptoCompare CEO Charles Hayter said:
“I am delighted that CryptoCompare has received FCA clearance, enabling institutional and retail investors to access our standard digital asset indices.”
Service providers will be able to create regulated financial products based on CryptoCompare’s suite of leading digital asset indices. The indices, based on the company’s proprietary methodology and research, provide institutional-grade access to the largest and most liquid digital assets.
As a reminder, CryptoCompare launched Exchange Benchmark in 2019, which ranks over 100 spot exchanges around the world. The company later updated the Exchange Benchmark tool – the list of ranked spot exchanges was expanded to 160 sites.
