Cryptocurrency companies receive $ 25 billion in funding in 2021

According to The Block, there have been 1,700 venture deals in the cryptocurrency industry this year. The amount of funds received from investors exceeded $ 25 billion.

The 2022 Digital Asset Outlook Report reports that the number of transactions increased by 126% over the year, while the total amount of investments received by cryptocurrency companies increased by 719% at once. This allowed the capitalization of a large number of blockchain firms to exceed $ 1 billion.

Startups with a capitalization of over $ 1 billion are called “unicorns” and, according to analysts, 65 companies received this status in 2021. Recently, the American company NYDIG raised $ 1 billion from venture capitalists, and its capitalization reached $ 7 billion. The FTX cryptocurrency exchange also held several rounds of funding.

Analysts also noted that venture capitalists are beginning to actively invest in decentralized finance projects. The trend started in 2020 and will continue this year. About a quarter (428) of the funding rounds were conducted by DeFi companies. They also often invested in NFT and GameFi projects – 406 transactions.

Solana Ventures recently announced the creation of a new $ 150 million fund. The funds will be invested in gaming projects based on the Solana blockchain.
