Cryptoinvestor lost $ 1.23 million due

On Monday, July 21, one of the crypto -investors lost more than $ 1.23 million in NFT after signing a malicious transaction on a fisch site that was advanced through the Google ADS platform.

According to SCAM Sniffer, the user in question went to the phishing site that looked the same as the Uniswap platform. Once there, he made a transaction in which there was a line automatically confirming all subsequent translations. After that, the attackers were able to access all his NFT on the Uniswap exchange and transfer them to their wallets.

Despite the fact that SCAM Sniffer did not confirm that Google ADS was used in the attack, such phishing sites are widespread on the Internet. Hackers use the URL in Punycode encoding, which uses Cyrillic so that the address looks almost like real.

Then scammers send these URLs through personal messages and Google Ads. Moreover, these ads appear in the top of the search results for several large Defi platforms. Google also makes a profit from this kind of fraud, charging a fee every time the user switches to a malicious site.
