The crime took place on Monday (15), in Jardim Botânico, South Zone of Rio. Images from security cameras show that the suspect hung around the house for at least 14 hours before murdering the American.

According to investigations, 18 puncture wounds were found on the victim's body, in the face and chest regions. Around 30 to 40 thousand dollars were taken from the gallery owner's house, but with the killer the police found around 3 thousand.

The man who is said to be in the process of divorcing the gallery owner is in Cuba and was also born in the Caribbean country. Brent Sikkema was going through a million-dollar fight to get a divorce and be able to see his son again.
