Curly hair is not all the same: understanding your hedgehog helps you to treat it better

I curly hair they are beautiful but, as girls who are naturally gifted with them know well, even extremely challenging to deal with.

In fact, there are products to use and specific steps to take to make them at the top, which in turn differ according to the type of hedgehog.

Yes, because while straight hair is more similar to each other, those curls fall into several categories, not always easily distinguishable, also because often several coexist in the same foliage.

What determines the type of hedgehog

To make the curls in a specific way is the shape of the follicles which are found on the scalp and from which hair grows and develops. The more they are flat or oval-shaped, the more curls they grow while, on the contrary, if they are circular, the hair is straight.

To understand which type a lion’s hair belongs to, you can rely on universal classification of the hair, which divides them into numbers from 1 to 4.

Those of type 1 are smooth, the 2 wavy and the 3 and 4 curly.

Excluding the first group, all the others have then sub categories ranging from A to C which slightly differentiate the foliage based on the diameter of the wave or spiral, from widest to narrowest. These are the primary characteristics of each group.

Type 2: wavy hair

This hair is slightly wavy and have just hinted waves which usually start at mid-length. Unfortunately they tend to sag and lose definition easily and for this reason the best way to treat them is to choose light products that do not weigh them down.

The hair 2A doesn’t have much volume. Their wave does not yet reach the “S” shape and the texture is fine and easy to smooth.

The wave 2B, on the other hand, is slightly more pronounced and defined, although very often it does not start from the root but develops from a few centimeters below. Hair is thicker than 2A in diameter but runs into the same disadvantage: loss of tone with ease.

Type 3: curly hair

Type 4: spiral hair

The ideal technique to treat them is that of the co-wash. If you want to proceed in the traditional way, it is essential not to forget moisturize them with a good dose of conditioner and often subject them to more intensive treatments.

People with type hair 4A have on their own head elastic and dense coils, with an «S» motif of the same circumference as a crochet needle. Fine and porous, this hair needs extreme hydration.

The 4Bs are very dense and can bend at acute angles ideally forming the letter Z. Usually dense and with a rough texture, once dry they can shorten up to 75% of their natural length.

the 4C plots finally they are similar to 4B, but they are more fragile and have one very tight zigzag pattern which is sometimes indistinguishable from sight.
