Current account surplus reached CAD 1.1800 million in the first quarter

  • Canada’s current account balance turned positive in the first quarter.

Canada posted a current account surplus of C $ 1.18 billion in the first quarter of 2021 after posting a current account deficit of C $ 5.27 billion (revised from C $ 7.26 billion) in the fourth quarter of 2020.

Other data from Canada revealed on Monday that during April the price index for raw materials and the price index for industrial products increased 1% and 1.6%, respectively.
