CVM President Joins OECD Corporate Governance Committee

The president of the Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM), João Pedro Nascimento, joined the extended Bureau of the Corporate Governance Committee at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). It is the first time that a Brazilian occupies the position.

The committee is responsible for conducting the work of a forum whose objective is to define principles and general guidelines on corporate governance issues. It is composed of members of the G20 and other countries related to the OECD.

O extended Bureau is new to the OECD and is open to non-committee members. With the appointment of Nascimento, Brazil joins the other six countries in the leadership of the committee: Spain, United States, Greece, Israel, Italy and Turkey.

“It will be a unique opportunity to discuss issues, exchange experiences and collaborate for the improvement of corporate governance practices and other topics related to the capital market”, said Nascimento.
