Websites, archives and other virtual services of more than 20 federal public institutions were targeted by cyber attacks on the 10th and 12th of this month. The actions affected ministries, educational institutions and even the Federal Highway Police.
The most emblematic case reached the Ministry of Health and prevented access to data on the evolution of the pandemic in the country for almost a week. The Connect-SUS app was also off the air, and Brazilians had difficulty proving that they were vaccinated, just when the courts started to demand the vaccine passport for entry into Brazil.
In this episode of E Tem Mais, Carol Nogueira presents a balance of concerns about the risks of leaking personal data and sensitive information from the digital systems of public bodies. To point out the scale of the threat to Brazilians’ digital security, technology and innovation specialist Lucas Montarroyos, technology director at HostDime Brasil, participates in this episode.
