Cyber-attack on Russian satellite TV: ‘You have blood on your hands’

Russian satellite TV menus have been the target of a cyber-attack today, showing viewers in Moscow anti-war messages in Ukraine. “You have blood on your hands,” he said in screenshots seen by Reuters.

The photos show the menus of Moscow’s satellite TV, the day of Victory over Russia’s victory over Nazi Germany in 1945, with all satellite channels broadcasting anti-war slogans.

“You have the blood of thousands of Ukrainians and hundreds of dead children in your hands,” said one slogan.

“Television and the authorities are lying. Not in war.”

The slogans appeared shortly before the Victory Day parade on Moscow’s Red Square, during which President Vladimir Putin compared the war in Ukraine to the Soviets’ struggle to defeat Adolf Hitler in World War II.

It is still not clear how these slogans appeared. According to the Interfax news agency, the slogans also appeared on cable TV after a cyber attack.

A Russian news site also aired anti-war material that was highly critical of Putin.

This material disappeared very quickly.
